Consent Declaration: Career Feature

Data Protection Consent Declaration pursuant to Art. 7 GDPR

The user can create an applicant profile in the app. This consent declaration concerns two independent operations: the visibility of the applicant profile to companies (Section A) and the transmission of the applicant profile in the context of an application or a contact request (Section B).

A. Visibility of the applicant profile and contact requests

By activating the toggle “I want my career profile to be viewable anonymously by companies and allow them to send me contact requests”, the user expressly declares their data protection consent that the controller (UniNow GmbH, headquartered in Magdeburg) makes the user’s applicant profile accessible to companies in anonymised form and that companies may send the user contact requests via the app.

The user agrees to the following procedure:

  1. Companies can view the applicant profile exclusively in anonymised form. The user’s identity — in particular name, contact details and profile photo — is only disclosed to a company once the user expressly accepts that company’s contact request.

  2. The user decides on each contact request individually, whether to accept or decline it.

  3. Submitting this consent is voluntary; the toggle is deactivated by default. Use of the app and of the remaining career feature is possible without restriction without this consent.

  4. Withdrawal is carried out at any time by deactivating the toggle in the career area of the app. The applicant profile is then no longer viewable by companies.

B. Transmission of the applicant profile upon application or contact confirmation

In the case of an application for a job offer, by clicking the “Send application” button, and in the case of a contact request from a company, by clicking the “Confirm” button, the user expressly declares their data protection consent that the controller transmits the personal data stored in the user’s applicant profile to the respective company.

The user agrees to the following procedure:

  1. The controller transmits the data stored in the applicant profile to the company responsible for the job offer or the requesting company.

  2. This concerns in particular the following data, insofar as the user has provided it in their applicant profile:

    • Salutation, title, last name, first name
    • Email address and telephone number
    • Postal address
    • Profile photo
    • Work experience
    • Education and internships
    • Languages and skills
    • the CV created from this information (PDF file)
  3. Before sending, the user is shown which data will be transmitted. The transmission only takes place after the user’s express confirmation.

  4. Upon transmission, the company becomes an independent controller under data protection law for the transmitted data. The company’s privacy notice applies to its further processing. The user can assert data subject rights regarding the transmitted data against the respective company.

  5. Submitting this consent is voluntary and is given individually for each application or contact request. Without it, no application and no contact confirmation is transmitted; the remaining use of the app is unaffected.

Common provisions

The controller assures that the user’s data protection concerns are guaranteed without restriction and that, beyond the transmissions described above, no transfer of data to third parties takes place. Transfer otherwise occurs exclusively to the controller’s service providers, the hosting providers named in the privacy policy for the purpose of data hosting. For further information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

The user may withdraw the above consent declarations in whole or in part at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal of the consent under Section A is carried out by deactivating the toggle in the career area of the app; otherwise, withdrawal is carried out by a message in the app’s support chat or by email to datenschutz@uninow.de. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent up to the point of withdrawal.
